The Fastest Clickers Win

In the “real world”, when stores are on sale (the big ones), or when they release very attractive products with limited supply, it is frequent that people go to the stores many hours before they open and wait in line to have priority of choice and assurance of stock availability.
But what happens in the “virtual world”? There is no way of waiting in line. The fastest clickers win, at least until now…
As a consequence, many online shoppers waiting for the “opening” of certain sales may result disappointed if their “clicks” are too slow. An interesting article explaining this phenomenon (specifically, what happened to Amazon with the Nintendo Wii) was published by the New York Times on November 21st.
